Context

American Fun Food is a Wichita, KS based B2B provider of “fun foods” and supplies — popcorn and popcorn makers, cotton candy machines, and various concessions. Their brand is built around a fun, playful feel for their products, while reinforcing that concession sales are a real money maker for their customers.

The Challenge

Each quarter American Fun Food targets a specific customer segment with special offers and discounted prices. Score Big was a back-to-school campaign aimed at area schools to drive concession purchases as a fundraising tool . The campaign had a short timeline, across multiple channels.

What I Did

  • Built a Fall Sports themed campaign system around the “Score Big” concept that scaled across every channel.
  • Designed a printed flyer handed out by delivery drivers directly to targeted customers for a high-touch, in-person hand-off.
  • Produced a series of promoted Facebook posts highlighting specific deals and product details.
  • Designed the homepage banner advertising the Score Big campaign on the brand's website.
  • Designed and built the campaign email blast that ran multiple times during the quarter.

The Results

  • Cohesive campaign system delivered across email, social, web, and print on a tight quarterly timeline.
  • In-person flyer hand-off through delivery drivers turned an existing route into a marketing channel.
  • A back-to-school message tied directly to high-margin concession products, useful for the customer, profitable for the brand.

What I'd Do Differently

While the physical flyer handout was a big hit, I would have liked to have had the time to develop a more robust landing page that we could send customers to, to get more information, and solidify their orders.
